| Internal Uses | Beneficial for the treatment of: Indigestion, dyspepsia, disorders of the spleen, liver (jaundice), kidney and gallbladder. Diabetes, urinary disorders, anaemia, high blood sugar, water retention, rheumatism, gout. Maintains bone health, skincare and weight loss (improves appetite). May be beneficial for osteoporosis. Reduces muscle pain, stomach disorders, bruising. Purifies the blood. |
| External Uses | Bruising, infected acne and eczema. Corns, warts and verrucas. Filter into a hot bath or use a hot compress. |
| Other | Insecticidal. For animals: diuretic, blood purifier, kidney and liver dysfunctions, laminitis, skin diseases and rheumatism. General tonic, improves digestion and appetite. Good for soil as compost. |
| Preparation | Pour 1 cup of boiling water over 1-2 teaspoons of herb. Cover and infuse for 5-10 mins. Strain and drink 3 times per day. Over-steeping tends to make herbs bitter. Hot compress: Put 1-2 teaspoons of herb into a facecloth, wrap and dip into ½ a cup of boiling water for 5 minutes. Allow to cool enough not to burn the skin, squeeze excess water from the facecloth and apply to affected area. |
