Sage

Age old wise Sage! Another humble herb with a wide range of benefits inside and out from bone health to hair health.

High in anti-inflammatory and antioxidant compounds, it may help to neutralize free radicals that can cause dis-ease. It may also help to reduce blood sugar and cholesterol levels and delay the development of Alzheimer’s disease, “multiple human studies note that sage extracts improve memory, brain function, mood, and focus” (PubMed Central).

Many skincare products are made with Sage that reinforces the wisdom of its healthy benefits for skin and wound healing. Being a popular herb used in dentistry it is known to target pain, inflammation, bad breath and may aid in healing mouth wounds.
There is also evidence that it is beneficial for calming hot flushes in menopausal women.
