Internal Uses | 3 main categories: anti-inflammatory, sedative, carminative. Beneficial for the treatment of: Indigestion, gastritis, flatulence, dyspeptic pain, most issues regarding the digestive system, insomnia, stress, anxiety, nervous tension, hysteria, rheumatism, arthritis, painful swellings, gingivitis, sore throat, menstrual pain, inflammation of the testicles. Safe as mild sedative for hyperactive children. Inhale steam for asthma, hay fever and blocked airways. |
External Uses | In a bath for relaxing tired, aching muscles and feet. Softens the skin and rough heels. For sore and inflamed eyes. Reduces swelling due to inflammation and aids in wound healing. Skin conditions such as eczema, sunburn, allergic reactions and dandruff. Use as a douche for haemorrhoids. |
Other | Use in soaps, creams & candles. For animals: can be mixed into feed for toxin build-up, rheumatism, arthritis, digestive issues, nervousness, breathing difficulties and vomiting. For horses may be used as sedative, for nervous colic, sweet itch and dermatitis, as a compress for mares with painful or inflamed udders. For aphids, mildew and whitefly may be mixed with Rosemary. |
Preparation | Infusion: Pour 1.5 cups of boiling water over 2-3 teaspoons of flower. Cover and steep for 10-15 minutes, strain and drink up to 3 times per day. Stronger for mouthwash. 1 teaspoon for anxiety. 2-3 teaspoons for insomnia. 1 cup of flowers with 2 litres of water for steaming and washing hair and face. Hot compress: Put 1-2 teaspoons of flowers into a facecloth, wrap and dip into ½ a cup of boiling water for 5 minutes. Allow to cool enough not to burn the skin, squeeze excess water from the facecloth and apply to affected area. |

Generally considered safe. Do not use what pregnant or breastfeeding. Should not be taken in conjunction with sedative medications or alcohol. Can interfere with blood clotting. Do not use in conjunction with aspirin, warfarin or other drugs which possess anticoagulant actions. If unsure consult a health practitioner before use |
